1. Peel the demo display film off the top of the display.
   (Note: The text on the film will have "0.0 fl oz" printed on it)
2. Remove/pull the plastic battery tab from the battery compartment.
3. Set the scale on a flat, hard, and even surface to ensure proper measurements.
4. Press the 'Power' button to turn the scale on.
5. Press the 'Unit' button to select measuring modes.
6. Place the item to be measured onto the scale.
