Operation
1. Press the power button located on the back of the thermometer to turn it on. When the thermometer initially turns on it will show all units of the LCD display for approximately two seconds before displaying the measured temperature.
2. The unit of measure is preset at °F. This can be changed to °C by pressing the unit button located on the back of the thermometer.
3. Unfold the probe and set it to the desired angle for measurement. If unfolding the probe to 180°, there will be a detent at 135°. Push past this detent to lock the probe open at 180°.
4. Insert the probe into the item that you wish to take the internal temperature of. The internal temperature will display on the screen. For accurate results be sure to insert the probe into the center of the thickest part of the meat.
5. After the measurement has been taken you can turn the unit off by pressing and holding the button. If you forget to turn the unit off, the auto-off feature will automatically turn the thermometer off after 20 minutes.
Note: If the backlight turns off while using the thermometer you can turn it on again by pressing the button. It will remain on for approximately 20 seconds before turning off again.
*CAUTION*
The stainless-steel probe can get very hot. Always wear heat-resistant gloves when handling.
