NOTE: For accurate results be sure to consider emissivity and distance-to-spot ratio which are explained later in the manual. The Escali DH7 is not recommended for use in measuring reflective surfaces as inaccurate results may occur. Inaccuracy may also occur when steam, dust, smoke, etc. is present and obscuring the path to the surface being measured.
Probe Mode Operation
1. Unfold the probe and the unit will automatically switch to Probe Mode.
2. Insert the probe into the item that you wish to take the internal temperature of. The internal temperature measured will display on the screen. For accurate results be sure to insert the probe into the center of the thickest part of the meat.
3. After the measurement has been taken, you can turn the unit off by folding the probe back into the body of the thermometer. If you forget to turn the unit off, the auto-off feature will automatically turn the DH7 off after 3 minutes.
NOTE: If the backlight turns off while using the thermometer you can turn it on again by pressing the button. It will remain on for approximately 25 seconds before turning off again.
CAUTION: The stainless steel probe can get very hot. Always wear heat resistant gloves when handling.
