Choosing a read-out mode (Fahrenheit or Celsius):

1. Install the included AA batteries into the thermometer.
2. Press the trigger to power the thermometer on.
3. Once "Lo" is displayed, press and hold the "Setting" button until "F1" appears, then release the button.
4. While "F1" is displayed, use the "+" or "-" buttons to change from F (Fahrenheit) or C (Celsius).
5. Press the "Setting" button four times until the thermometer powers off to save your settings.

Taking forehead measurements:

1. Ensure the side switch is toggled on "Body".
2. Press the trigger to power the thermometer on.
3. Wait for the LCD to display "Lo".
4. Point the thermometer towards the center of the forehead about 1-2 inches away.
5. Keep still, and press the trigger to capture the body temperature.
