1. Insert the two AA batteries included with your scale.
2. Place the stainless steel plate on the weighing platform.
3. Press the "On/tare/off" button to power the scale on.
4. Press the "g/oz" button to change the unit of measurement.
5. Set the scale on a flat, hard, and even surface.
6. Place items onto the scale to start weighing.
